Shipping

When a donation is received and is designated toward a specific worker in the field, equipment will be shipped within 3 to 5 business days.  If the equipment is needed more quickly, please give us a call.

While we are able to ship to virtually any address in the world, we find that customs and duties often total to more than the item’s value. Therefore, Renew does not ship internationally and our recommendation is to have your equipment shipped to a US address and then carried into your destination country as luggage. If you have any questions feel free to call Renew directly.

Vista 1000 FAQ

Vista 1000 Power, Battery, and Charging

What size and type of battery comes with the Vista 1000?

The Vista 1000 Backpack System is solar-powered and includes a 150 Watt-hour lithium smart battery. The Vista 1000 can also run from AC (wall outlet) power.

How long does a battery-powered Vista 1000 run from a full battery?

It runs for 7-8 hours, depending on use (for example, movies use more power than talking; more power is used by a greater volume; etc.).

How long does it take to charge the battery from the solar panel?

It takes about 8-12 hours to charge, or a full day in the sun. This time can be lengthened by the presence of clouds or shade, or by latitude. Having an additional battery is one way to guard against insufficient charging, as in the event that the original battery does not complete charging on a given day due to environmental or other circumstances, you can have a fully charged backup battery ready to take its place for the occasion.

Can the Vista 1000 be run or the battery be charged via an AC wall outlet?

Yes, the Vista 1000 includes an AC adapter to run the system from AC power ( 110V – 240V, 50/60 Hz), and an AC charger to charge the battery from AC power (110V – 240V, 50/60 Hz).

How long does it take to charge the battery via an AC wall outlet?

About 4 hours.

Can a battery-powered Vista 1000 be charged via a car or other automobile?

Yes, the system includes a cigarette lighter charger for the battery.

How much power does a battery-powered Vista 1000 consume?

It consumes approximately 25-30 Watts, depending on the volume, number of speakers used, etc.

Vista 1000 Projector

Is a low-lumen projector really bright enough to show a movie to 1,000 people?

This projector will surprise you (it certainly surprised us): In a dark environment, this LED projector easily fills our 92″ screen with a bright, clear image. Some users have contacted us to say that they were able to show the film to more than 1,000 at a time. The picture is so bright in total darkness that the image shows through to the other side of our round screen, allowing even more viewers.

How long does the Vista 1000 projector bulb last?

Because it is an LED (light-emitting diode) instead of a standard bulb, it has as much as 20,000 hours of life. Think of it this way: you could show a 2-hour film every day – that’s 365 times per year – and still be using this LED projector 20 years from now without replacing the bulb.
